The Hope Historical Museum is housed in a small frame building believed to have been the original toll-keeper’s house from the 1820s. Once a private residence, the structure was restored in 1955 by the Hope Historical Society and now serves as both a local history museum and the organization’s headquarters. The museum is open on Sundays, June-October. Modest in size but rich in story, it offers a quiet glimpse into the everyday life and early transportation history of this part of the NJ Highlands.
