Norvin Green State Forest

Norvin Green State Forest offers a rugged escape for hikers looking to go a little deeper into the landscape. Part of the Wyanokie Wilderness Area, the forest features a challenging trail network that climbs from 400 to 1,300 feet, rewarding visitors with sweeping views of the New York City skyline, Burnt Meadow Brook, and Lake Sonoma. Undisturbed forest and rocky terrain create important habitat for birds and wildlife, adding to the sense of quiet immersion. Built along old logging roads and volunteer-crafted trails, the foot-access-only paths are well-suited for serious hikes, nature walks, and outdoor learning
